About

42777813_amymullins_cr_wliaI write and speak about federal politics and public policy issues. I started doing this pseudonymously and at a time when a group of passionate political writers came to prominence by “blogging” about the 2010 federal election. This has been chronicled in Greg Jericho’s book, The Rise of the Fifth Estate.

My work has been published here, as well as at the Guardian Australia, and my now archived articles at ABC’s The Drum.

As a political commentator I have appeared on SBS World News Australia, Radio National’s Sunday Extra, 4ZZZ FM and Triple R FM.

I am the host of the Tuesday morning talk show Uncommon Sense (9am – 12pm) on Triple R 102.7 FM. The show commenced on January 17th, 2017.

It has been my aim with this blog to write pieces that provide an original (as possible) perspective on issues in politics, the media and public policy – and importantly, that are evidence-based.

As with most blogs, I need to write more, but my regular interviews on Triple R will have to suffice for now.

This site is about cutting through the spin and bias by getting to the real heart of the issues.

Happy reading and listening,

Amy Mullins
